If you received an email indicating your abstract submission was selected for presentation at the NCA 2019 Leadership Conference, please review the following information and complete the Presenter Acceptance Form at the bottom of this page. Your workshop will be scheduled for a concurrent session during June 3-5, 2019.
Thank you for presenting at the 2019 Leadership Conference. In keeping with our tradition of peer education and mentoring, workshop presenters are asked to donate their time and expenses as a personal contribution to Children’s Advocacy Centers and the children they serve. We appreciate your generosity and that of your sponsoring agency.
Conference Registration & Fees
The lead presenter at each workshop will receive a 50% discount on the conference registration fee. Registration information will be forwarded to the lead presenter when it becomes available. If you, as the lead presenter, will only be attending your presentation at the conference, please indicate that when you fill out the presenter acceptance form. If only attending your session, you will not need to register for the conference.
All Workshop Presenters are responsible for making their hotel reservations at the Washington Renaissance Hotel. Once registration for the conference opens, information on how to make your hotel reservations will be available on the conference webpage. You will be responsible for the cost of your room, tax, and incidentals. The conference rate negotiated by NCA will be the federal per diem rate. Space is limited, so please make your hotel reservations as soon as you are notified that registration is open. You may also call the hotel at 202-682-3364 and please mention the NCA Leadership Conference to receive the conference rate.
If you received the email directing you to this page, you have been identified as the Lead Presenter or Co-presenter. As the Lead Presenter, all correspondence from National Children’s Alliance and its representatives will be directed to you. Please forward any necessary information and all other correspondence regarding the Leadership Conference to your presenter partner(s). NCA will not contact presenter partners for information concerning your presentation. Remember only the Lead Presenter will receive the discounted conference registration fee. Any secondary presenters will need to pay the regular conference registration fee if they wish to attend the conference.
The biographical/professional statement for the Lead Presenter & Co-Presenter that was submitted with the workshop proposals will be used in printed materials and on the website for the 2019 Leadership Conference. If you would like to amend your information, revisions will be accepted and must be received no later than February 1st.
Please note: biographical information greater than 1 paragraph will be edited. A digital picture of all presenters will be placed next to your bio on the leadership conference web page, please submit the digital picture when you complete the Presenter Acceptance Form below.
Conference Handouts & PowerPoint Presentations
As a part of NCA’s efforts to “Go Green”, paper copies of session handouts and PowerPoint presentations will not be distributed to conference participants. Session handouts and PowerPoint presentations will be available for download and printing from NCA’s website prior to and after the conference. Your materials should be submitted electronically no later than May 10, 2019. Your compliance with the May 10, 2019 deadline will ensure that NCA staff has sufficient time to upload your documents to our website and will provide conference participants with ample time to retrieve them prior to the conference. You will be provided with an upload link for your documents prior to the deadline.
For your convenience, we are able to make the following audio visual equipment available for use during your presentation:
Audio visual equipment is a very large expense at the Leadership Conference. When you complete the below Presenter Acceptance Form, you will be ask to indicate which of the above items you will need for your presentation. If your presentation will not require the use of an LCD projector, or any of the other items listed above, please do not select them when you complete the form. We thank you for helping us to keep the technology portion of our conference budget reasonable.
If your presentation requires Internet access: Attendees will have internet access throughout the conference center and you may use this to access material online during your presentation. However, due to the number of attendees using the service, we cannot be responsible for bandwidth availability. The hotel charges presenters $100-$150 per day for individual access to the Internet in meeting rooms, for which the presenters will be responsible. It is best if you avoid having to use internet access during your presentation.
Laptops: NCA is unable to provide laptops for workshop presentations. If your presentation requires a laptop, please make arrangements to have one during your presentation. The hotel’s LCD projectors are PC friendly and an adapter is required for Apple computers. If your laptop is an Apple computer, please bring along an adapter that will allow the computer to communicate with the projector. The hotel does not supply adapters.
