    Registration Information

    Tuition includes entry to all of the conference sessions, awards reception, daily breakfast, refreshment breaks, luncheon on Monday, networking reception, and conference participant materials. You may either pay online during the registration process or mail a check made out to the National Children's Alliance and a copy of your invoice to:

    Make sure to review the conference schedule and workshop descriptions before registering, as you will be asked to select your workshop preferences during the registration process.


    Review the conference registration cost in the left column and then select the register button at the bottom of the column or the button above to begin the registration process.

    Please Note: Early registration fees must be paid in full by August 3, 2020. If payment is not received by August 3rd, your registration will be canceled and you will need to re-register under the general registration fee of $700 for members and $750 for non-members.

    Travel to Washington, DC

    Three major airports serve the Washington, D.C. area: 

    Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) Washington                    Dulles International Airport (IAD)
    Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) 

    Of the three airports, Reagan National Airport is the closest and travel to the conference hotel by taxi or Metro (Washington’s subway system) is simple. Dulles and BWI airports are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the conference hotel; private shuttles or private transportation is recommended when flying into these airports. 


    Conference Center Hotel Information

    The Renaissance Washington D.C. Downtown Hotel, located at 999 9th Street NW, is home to Leadership Conference 2020. All conference sessions will be at the hotel which is centrally located in Penn Quarter, adjacent to the Washington Convention Center and within 2 blocks of the Metro, Chinatown, numerous restaurants and entertainment on 7th and H Streets.

    A block of rooms has been set up at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel, and Courtyard Washington Downtown/Convention Center at the federal per diem rate per night plus tax (currently 14.5% per room per night) for single and double occupancy.

    Please note that on Friday, July 10th, 2020 the credit cards on file for Renaissance reservation will be charged a (1) one night non-refundable deposit for each reservation. Any cancellation received after July 9th will result in the deposit to be forfeited.

    Cancellation Policy

    Policy revised May 29, 2020

    Registration cancellations must be received by email to Training Coordinator Nicole Wilbon (leadershipconference@nca-online.org). Cancellations received by NCA on or before July 9, 2020, will receive a full refund. Cancellations received after July 9, 2020, but on or before November 2, 2020, will be refunded at 80% of the registration fee paid. Refunds will not be given for cancellations received after November 2, 2020 or for participants who register but do not attend.
    In the event the conference is canceled by NCA at any time due to a stay-at-home order or restrictions on mass gatherings issued by authorities in D.C., all registrants will receive a full registration refund.
    All eligible full refund requests received by July 9 will be issued starting July 15, 2020. Eligible partial refunds will be issued after the conclusion of the conference.

    Transfer of registration

    Transfer of registration fees to another person attending Leadership Conference 2020 may be done without penalty, at any time upon notification to the Conference Coordinator.

    Grantee attendance requirement

    With the understanding that some grantees may have health vulnerabilities making it impossible to travel or gather safely, NCA is waiving grantee attendance requirements for the 2020 Leadership Conference. Non-attendance will not impact future grant eligibility. 

    In the event that NCA cancels the 2020 Leadership Conference due to a stay-at-home order or an order restricting mass gatherings, reimbursements for cancellation fees may be submitted under Office of Justice Programs (OJP) COVID-19 cancellation guidance. OJP has not permitted cancellation fees to be treated as an allowable expense under federal awards in any other circumstance. 

    If the conference is moved to a virtual platform, grantees are expected to attend, and registration fees will be transferred.
